“One day last summer, I spoke at a conference in Zimbabwe for Baptist Women leaders from a number of countries in Southern Africa. We tried some spiritual formation practices together, including one called Palms Up/Palms Down which helps us release our worries to God.
The next morning a woman came up to me with excitement. “I tried that hands prayer this morning,” she said. Then she carefully explained how she had done it. I assured her she had done it wonderfully. “Good!¨ she said, ¨because I want to teach it to the women in my country.” It turns out she was the national women’s leader for her denomination.
Women in Africa have no social safety net; no savings account for emergencies. Practices that develop our rest in God are truly valuable. Thank you CBWOQ for your prayers and your financial support that makes this ministry possible.”
