In the heart of communities marked by hardship and resilience, a beautiful transformation is taking place. At the center of this transformation is Casa de la Amistad, a project dedicated to supporting children whose parents are or have been previously imprisoned. The journey of these children is filled with complexity and pain, but also tremendous courage and potential.
But the story doesn’t end there. Eagle Wings has recognized a deeper need—one that involves not only the children but also their mothers, many of whom have struggled to find stable livelihoods while navigating the stigma and struggles that come with their past.
Out of this awareness, a powerful initiative was born: sewing training and regular workshops addressing social issues relevant to their context. It’s about more than providing skills; it’s about restoring dignity, building community, and opening doors to a brighter future.
The program offers women the chance to learn practical skills in sewing and other livelihoods, giving them tangible tools to support their families. But more than that, it provides a space where women can come together, support one another, and grow spiritually. Through devotionals and intentional teaching, these women are invited to encounter the transforming grace of God—grace that meets them where they are, celebrates their resilience, and empowers them to move forward with hope.
Alongside skill-building, Eagle Wings provides essential training and resources for these women to step into the marketplace with confidence. Marketing workshops help them not only create but also effectively share their products with the world.
The result? A holistic program that integrates economic, social, and spiritual development. It’s a ministry of empowerment, designed to uplift women as they reclaim their God-given dignity and purpose.
Their stories are a testament to what happens when communities rally around those society has often overlooked. It’s about breaking cycles of poverty and stigma. It’s about hope, healing, and the courage to start anew.
And it’s about how each thread woven in these sewing workshops carries a story—a story of faith, resilience, and the unstoppable love of God.
May we continue to support and pray for the work of Casa de la Amistad and Eagle Wings as they bear witness to God’s transforming grace through words and deeds.
